To grow your business, you must invite people and let people know about you.
This is the basics of beginning to grow. Unless you have a direct relationship with a business who feeds your business, this is the way you grow. Even if you did have this plentiful relationship with another business, what if things change in the future? You might still want to operate business doing what you do and so, again, you must learn to invite clients and business friends to come into or get to know your business.
The good news is this isn't very difficult.
Often just knowing what to do, besides hanging your shingle so-to-speak above your door, is half the battle. Making a plan for business and a steady stream of clients is another thing.
Plan to actually invite people to your stuff - mainly your offers.

How to invite people to your business: (see below)
- You can invite clients to your business or practice by coming up with an offer that sounds enticing and like today’s a good day for joining.
- You can use nice invitations that provide the messaging that connects with your readers’ concerns and desires
- You can share valuable content that a great client would share – like pertinent tips, questions answered and a little guidance too.
- And when you make an offer, you can put a little fire under it so people know it’s now or never (or in their minds it feels like that anyway 😊) – who doesn't love to share a sale?!
You see, when you invite people, it doesn't have to be that you know exactly what one person is suffering from or without, it can be to a group of people for which whom you have an understanding about what they want.
You can convey this understanding and these invitations to a group through your email list, social media followers or group or through your blog and talks. To pick a niche you love for growing your business, check out the Emails that Sell monthly content membership niches here.
Of course, if you are going to invite one person at a time, you can use ice-breakers like these.
Who to invite:
- Invite affiliates or potential business-friends. These are people who cater to a group of clients that are similar to the type of clients you see. Or it might be a business or professional that is working with clients one step before they see you, or a step after they'd see you or during the steps laterally from when they see you (like another professional for which whom you co-manage a client). Here's how you can invite them to get to know your business:
- Send them one series of emails that you hang your hat on (We offer a template for a set of monthly emails in your Emails that Sell membership)
- Send a private text message invitation (if it seems like it could fit the situation - we offer a template for this in your Emails that Sell membership)
- Send them one letter of introduction (recommend a follow-up)
- Give them a set of brochures, cards, flyers or a clutch card around what you do or your offer
- Invite them to events and offers that you host periodically
- Ask them for an interview and interview them for your podcast or one series you decide to put together around a subject
- Invite regular people who have the problems that you can solve to your business, or invite those who know or care for people with problems or desires for a solution that you have.
- Send them one series of emails that you hang your hat on (We offer a template for a set of monthly emails in your Emails that Sell membership)
- Share your content with people – like from your blog, your email, your social media stream, from an article, newsletter, pdf, print-out (We offer regular content that stays on topic, in a set of monthly emails with your Emails that Sell membership)
- Invite people individually or as a whole (like on social media) to your events and/or current offers
- Share a flyer for this month’s offers in a prominent place
- Invite a person in-person. If you notice they might have a need for what you do or have, you ask questions or share condolence with them around their problem, and you tell them about your program, offer or solution. (Try using an ice-breaker)
